I recently picked up a class 2b1 penny of Henry III from the mint at Lincoln.  It's my first penny of this class not from London or Canterbury.  

Most of the usually suspect mints issued pennies in class 2, though in much smaller numbers than London or Canterbury.    

Man oh man @JeandAcre those are some seriously good coins in your post.  The penny of Harthacnut is quite a nice coin.  When I saw it come up for sale I had hoped you might get it, glad to see it ended up in your collection.  Thanks for writing such an interesting post!

I'll add my latest win from CNG. It is a denier of Edward I from Aquitaine, and was minted after he became king.

That is a great coin @JeandAcre congrats on such an interesting addition to your collection.  I love the reverse with the Agnus dei, never seen that on a coin before. Do you happen to have any idea what is to theright of the lamb?  

As my most prized coin, I'm always happy to share my treaty period groat of Edward III struck at Calais in roughly 1363 AD.

I'll add a couple of coins of Edward III that were most likely struck at the start of the 100 Years War when he was in Flanders with his family and army between 1337 and 1339.  The first coin is an Esterlin and the second coin is a Demi-Esterlin.

I'll a couple of Edward I pennies that come from the London mint.  Both belong to class 1c, which was struck in 1279, and represent the first large scale minting of the new style penny of Edward.

I've been away from coins for most of 2022, but I did manage to pickup a rare class 6c2 penny of Henry III from the mint at Canterbury.  This class is known for having very unique ornamental letters in the obverse and reverse legends that aren't replicated in other coins of the series. For this coin it is the letters C, E, and R. Some have attributed the class to the occupation of the mints of London, Bury, and Canterbury by Prince Louis of France in 1216.  While I can't speak to that, it would make for quite a historical coin.  An English penny struck by a French prince if you will.
