@TheTrachyEnjoyer I was going to post photos of my Wednesday visit but they were not nearly as good as yours! Thank you for posting them!
I hope this isn’t a breach of etiquette, and apologies in advance if it is, just thought I would post my experience at the show. It was my first large coin show. I have only been to smaller coin shows in Cleveland and Columbus respectively. It was overwhelming! Sensory overload to say the least. SO……..MANY…….COINS. It was worth going for the experience to me, but I feel when all is said and done I do better at auctions or smaller shows. The advice received in an earlier post was very helpful( thank you all again!) and I had specific goals but at the end of the day I did not end up getting any ancient coins🤷🏻♂️. I did sell some coins and felt overall I received good prices ,so it was the first show where I made money instead of made debt( the wife was pleased, surprised, and perhaps wondering if I was replaced by aliens….).
I talked to Laura Wakeland at the HJB table and she gave me good advice for this show. She said every half hour or so to exit and give my eyes a break and reset my brain because there is so much to look at. She said it would prevent knee jerk purchases, and mistakes. It was very helpful 😀. I bought one coin just because I occasionally like coins with a story. A shipwreck coin as seen in the photos. Long story short( too late!) it was a good experience and I will be better equipped to go to a large show again if I want to in the future.
