Description

I am in the process of trimming down sections of my collection.

Septimius Severus Denarius

Obv:– L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX, Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind
Rev:– AEQVITA-TI AVGG, Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopia
Minted in Laodicea ad Mare. A.D. 201
Reference(s) – RIC IV -; BMCRE -; RSC 22a

This is not your ususal AEQVITATI AVGG. The vast majority of busts from this series are plain busts. Other busts do occur but are rare. You can find a small number of examples of the cuirassed bust for this type on ACsearch but there are none with this draped and cuiarssed bust type. The other examples that I am aware of are Arnold lot 5 and Barry Murphy SEV-169.

2.54 gms, 18.67 mm. 0 degrees

I’m asking $400 plus shipping. PayPal Friends&Family is preferred.

I live in the United Kingdom and will ship from there. Shipping is via Royal Mail Tracked and Signed for services:

Worldwide: $14 tracked and signed for

UK: $5 first class signed for
